Move It Through: 2 Ways to Reset Your Body

Updated: Jan 14

When your mind won’t stop and your body feels tight, thinking harder rarely helps. This tool gives you two options—a gentle reset and a high‑energy reset—so you can move stuck emotions and come back to yourself.

Option 1 – Gentle Shake + Sound (for sensitive / overstimulated days)

  • Notice: “Where am I holding this—jaw, shoulders, belly?”

  • Shake lightly: Gently shake arms, shoulders, hands for 20–30 seconds.

  • Jaw + face: Soften your jaw, stretch your face, maybe yawn or gently wiggle.

  • Sound: Exhale with a long sigh, hum, or low sound three times.

  • Choose: “What is the kindest next small action?” Do only that.

Option 2 – Power Burst (for stuck, foggy, procrastinating days)

  • Pick a song you love and set a 90‑second timer.

  • Move big: dance like crazy, do jumping jacks, or march in place with strong arms—enough to raise your heart rate a bit.

  • Add sound: laugh, sing along, or exhale with sound as you move.

  • Finish standing still for 3 slow breaths, hand on heart or belly.

  • Decide one clear action you’ll start immediately (set a 5–10 minute timer and begin).

You can come back to this tool whenever you feel stuck in your head or frozen in your body. Each time you move it through—even for 60–90 seconds—you teach your nervous system that you are allowed to reset and then take one clear step forward again.
